Chris Reddy grew up in Leominster Massachusetts and started playing guitar at the age of 7. After studying acoustic guitar for a few years, Chris purchased his first electric at 13 and pursued a direction in local music in High school, helping create the progressive rock group Exius. The original members of this group eventually became Transit, a band which has survived 20+ years and continues to play out consistently to this day. After 3 recorded albums and years of shows, Chris began to explore the world of digital recording on the side in the mid 1990’s and has not looked back. After several “singles” digital recordings, Chris initiated work on building the Digital Kitchen home studio, which became the catalyst for creating solo recording endeavors. In 1999 Chris began work on the “Info Junkie” CD which would become the first such recording. The CD conveys the influences Chris had while growing up in the music rich progressive era of the 70’s and 80’s. The CD has been described as evoking styles reminiscent of Jeff Beck, Allan Holdsworth, and Steve Morse, all guitarists Chris has credited as influences.
Along with producing solo CDs in the Digital Kitchen and
gigs with Transit, Chris is now performing original and cover material in
acoustic performances around New England. Utilizing loop station technology and
a gist for going deep in the playlist, Chris’s performances offer
a new direction in solo
performance.
